Most all of the instruments available to Puddleby's musicians and bards require some construction from natural components before they are ready to be played. Many are crafted by Hendrux the artisan, but at least one can be made by jewelers, and another is imported overseas, intact.

The following are crafted by Hendrux:

Bagpipes are made from internal organs, found in the wild.
Bone flutes are carved from large bones found in forests and meadows.
Casseroles are tempered from steel pots found in encampments.
Conches are coaxed from silvery shells, found on the beaches.
Gitors are strung from tor shells, found in the untamed regions of Puddleby.
Lucky Lyras are crafted of Luck Bones, dropped on high from Drake fly-bys.
Ocarinas are baked from fine lumps of fine marsh clay.
Orga Drums are repaired from broken drums found in nearby Orga forests.
Reed Flutes are constructed of bundled marsh reeds.
Starbuck Harps are built from sets of starbuck antlers.
Torjos start as Torjo shells, found where Tors and their ilk may roam.
Tuborns are made from pieces of tremolite, a rare mineral, which must first be refined from ore.
Vibras can only be built with judder ingots, which must first be refined from ore.
Violčne strings will only sing sweetly when strung with a strand of Falinea's hair ?.
Xylos are hewn from pieces of fine wood, found among coarser-grained logs.

Horns are only available through the Golden Butterfly casino, as a slot-machine prize.
Sea Horns are made by jewelers from curved ocean shells.
