Mantuan Rare and ancient beasts of immense, shaggy bulk, Mantuans seem to be the relic of some long-past era of a smaller world at larger scale. Found only on Metzetli Island, the Mantuan bears impressive tusks and horns as well as legs like old-growth tree trunks. At the time of writing, only twice have they been found in the grassy lowland jungles of the northern island, and twice on the plateau, the tepui, to the south. In combat they are fearsome, with the ability to lay low stout warriors with a single jab of the tusk. Despite the appearance of clumsily pendulous lumbering, they are able to attack with great accuracy, striking true against even Fighters with consummate evasive ability. It is unknown how many, if any, Mantuans remain— they are an elusive creature, not easily hunted even by those with the strength to do so. |
