The Kala Shana

Who, or what the Kala Shana may have been is unclear, shrouded now in the mists of time. This reporter believes that most likely they were a group of some sort, though the nature of their affiliation is unknown. It may have been religious, secular, or perhaps familial.
What we do know about them, is that they had an enemy, a young wizard, whom the ancient texts do not name. (It is no more than speculation to assume that this wizard might have been Qual.) Their battle against this wizard is said to have lasted eons. At last, they built a device, an artifact which they intended to use against him, yet for reasons which are unclear, they never did. Apparently this wizard discovered their plans, and so the device was hidden from him.
One can only assume from the above that the device required a certain level of secrecy in it's process of deployment in order to operate properly. Or, perhaps, the Kala Shana grew to fear what they had created, and their resolve to use it failed.
Regardless, it is possible that this device still exists, and it is also possible that it may be of use against the wizard Qual. Current speculation believes that this device and the Separ may be one and the same.
