DeadlyPoppy

A small flower whose blooms are of midnight hue. Deadly poppies share several characteristics with the Ku flower; they are of similar size and grow in the same variety of small patch.

Deadly poppies have a faint, sickly-sweet fragrance. Upon travelling too near to a blooming poppy, one is overwhelmed by feelings of complacency, lethargy, and general apathy. The longer that one stays in the close vicinity, the stronger these feelings become. The body's awareness slowly shuts down, beginning with a gentle tingling followed by a smothering numbness. Eventually, the sluggish body is no longer able to move at all, and completes its passing into oblivion.

Some varieties of deadly poppy have larger bright orange blossoms, such as those tended by Flander. These poppies vary from the black-petalled species in that the body reacts by losing all vision before the induced torpor completes its progression.
