CrumblyBlackRock

A rare mineral, crumbly black rock is found only in and near the volcanoes of Fire Island. When powdered, it is used as a darkening agent in a variety of paints. Collection of black rock is somewhat perilous, and it is the least common of the pigments used by those making paint. Because of this, dark paints tend to be more expensive than lighter shades.
