AstralSparkMeetingNevyn By now, you all know how to speak Spark, or you should, or.... Sigh. Ok, a quick recap. Astral Spark is a female Spirit Lord, who frequents places not meants for mere mortals, like the Astral Plane, the Planar Temple, and other such places. Not having vocal cords, she speaks poorly. Or at least, not verbally. Instead, she blinks. Yes, blinks. Now now. Shush a moment please. Yes, I know many things have been reported as being 'said' by Astral Spark, which I've just said is clearly impossible. Instead, she uses a language of blinking on and off as a language of sorts. We exiles ask pertinent (and impertinent) questions, and Astral Spark answers the ones that can be heard. Until she's crowded, then she leaves. Usually much shouting occurs at this point. First, the basics: One blink : No. Two blinks : Yes. Confirm this if you must, but the answer to the question 'does one blink mean yes' will confuse you utterly. When it does, don't look at me. A better question is 'Are you female?', or 'Do I have a club?' or some silly thing like that. Note that she usually dodges towards the questioner she is answering, provided people leave her enough space. Um. And remind her. Also note that you can sense emotions sometimes very easily. Such as 'Astral Spark blinks merrily', or 'Astral Spark blinks weakly'. Three blinks: This one has a variety of meanings. 'Maybe', 'I don't know', 'What kind of a question is that', are reasonable translations. You could consider it 'Please ask a yes/no question'. Questions that get three blinks: Are you immortal? What did I have for breakfast? If a woodchuck could chuck wood, how much... The intermediate: One blink, then two blinks: No, but sort of yes. (Or no, but not always) Will you live forever? (Probably can be killed, somehow.) Is an Orga Rage red? (No, it's orangish red, but... that's close to red) Two blinks, then one blink: Yes, but sort of no. (Or yes, but not always) The advanced: 2 blinks, then 3 blinks, yes but more. Usually people scream when they see this one. Is Mobius a Mystic? (Rumored to be, but fights too well) Is Mobius a Fighter? (Rumored to be, but created the Dark Sentinals) Is Mobius a Healer? (Rumored to be, but...) 1 blink, then 3 blinks, no but more. Do you eat? (No, not food. What are you taking? Tangleweed?) There is far more, but, this is more than I've seen recorded in the rebuilt library. My notes were lost in the cleansing, so this will have to do for now. Now, back to the point! Astral Spark was seen dancing merrily in the East Farms recently, and answered one important question: "I take it things turned out satisfactorily in the rifture war?" Astral Spark blinks twice! (and dodges towards the questioner) Astral Spark dances merrily. Interpreting that is left as an exercise for the reader. Now, back to the regularly scheduled butterfly hunt. Nevyn the frazzled. |
