Djill Few exiles have as bad a reputation as Jack Vintian, but Djill comes close. Djill runs one of the Black Jack tables on the second floor of the Golden Butterfly, and many exiles claim that she cheats even worse than Jack does, if such a thing is possible. Djill usually has a bottle of wine placed next to her table, ostensibly for the benefit of her patrons, but most exiles believe that the wine is there only to get gamblers so drunk that they can't tell that Djill is cheating. Even without the wine, Djill has a slight of hand that would impress even the most talented magician. Lakjo and Jack are rank amateurs compared to this slick spinster. No serious gambler will even sit at Djill's table. |
