MoonshimmerA magical unicorn. By now most residents of Puddleby have learned of the great misfortune which befell the good healer Argh a short time ago. As I understand it, he was healing someone in the arachnoid caverns, as he often did, when he was visited by the evil sorceror Zonk. Although the exact details of what then happened are not known to me, the end result was that Argh's moonstone was cursed by Zonk, and he can no longer heal. Perhaps Argh would consent to submit his own account of the events, if the retelling is not too distressing to him. Argh has spent his time recently in prayer to the Moon and in consulting the ancient texts, seeking some way to restore his moonstone and regain his ability to heal. He now wears a tan robe in place of his usual healer's white, and to show their support of him and their solidarity in the face of evil, many other Puddleby residents have donned tan clothing as well. As far as I know, until just few days ago, Argh had gotten no repsonse to his prayers. But then the unicorn Moonshimmer, envoy of the Moon, appeared near the Orga Camp. I arrived at the Camp shortly afterward. The lovely Moonshimmer appeared distressed -- she had lost the power of speech, and she clearly had something important to communicate to the many exiles gathered around her. We struggled in vain to understand her as she pointed her horn at first this person, then that one, and stomped her hoof in her impatience with us. Sadly, some exiles did not seem to understand her nature, and at one point one of them even attacked her! We others were too stunned by this terrible act to pull the attacker away in time, and Moonshimmer was nearly killed. However, she struggled to her feet again, and I and a few other healers had the great honor of helping restore her health. With the aid of her sharp horn, she then dealt swift justice on her attacker, who had a bit of difficulty persuading any of the healers present to help him afterward. Though he was reluctant to impose upon her, finally Argh was convinced to approach the envoy of the Moon. He stood silently in front of her, his cursed moonstone in his hand, as she sniffed at it. A large crowd stood and watched at a respectful distance. Once again, however, without her voice she was unable to communicate to us what was needed, or indeed whether she was able to help. We tried once more to guess at what she might need to restore her voice, but unfortunately before we succeeded a great Chaos Storm came. When we woke up from the storm's confusion, Moonshimmer was gone. We can only hope that the Moon will consent to send her envoy again, and that we will be able to figure out how we can help her and understand what it is she means to tell us. respectfully submitted by Healery of Puddleby Related Links:
