MudGolemImmense constructs devised and animated by Melabrion. The mud with which each Golem is made originates in his gold and tin mines, and was previously considered a waste material. The mud is baked to extreme temperatures in his kilns and then fired into the roughly humanoid shape in which Golems are encountered. Almost all Golems work as guards of Melabrion's Keep. Mud Golems can be controlled by individuals, and in one instance a Sarir used one as a vehicle in which to run away. Another time, a Mud Golem chained fallen exiles to safety on Melabrion's orders. Melabrion designed Golems based on the Greymyr, which were described to him by Puddleby exiles. He commissioned several exiles to bring him corpses of fallen Greymyr, which he studied carefully and used as a framework around which to build the Golem design. Around this same time he directed studies on various rocks and ores. It is possible that he used knowledge gleaned from these studies to compose the hard-hitting mudballs Golems toss. The magical directive that drives Mud Golems is focused in an unrefined ruby gem that is occasionally still intact and can be recovered when Golems are destroyed. |
